Tokyo. Kabaeva, who won bronze in all-around at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and gold in the same category at Athens 2004, agreed to a rare appearance on television to defend the performance of Dina Averina and criticise the judgement of the officials.
The 38-year-old, who was once described as "full of sex" by photographer Mikhail Korolov following a magazine shoot, is thought to have several children with Putin with details of their relationship never being published in Russia.
Just months after she wished the gymnasts support having been out of the public eye for almost three years, she lashed out after Dina Averina lost out to Linoy Ashram of Israel in the individual all-around amid controversial scores.On TV, Kabaeva said: "Dina Averina's performance was perfect.
Unlike her rival from Israel (who) made a gross mistake."That mistake should have been worth a point, but they only took 0.7 points.
