The Vancouver Film Critics Circle has revealed its international nominations, with David Fincher's Mank, from Netflix, leading this year's field with five mentions.
The biographical drama about Herman J. Mankiewicz — the alcoholic writer sequestered in the Mojave Desert to finish his screenplay for Orson Welles' Citizen Kane, in Fincher's behind-the-scenes look at 1930s Hollywood — received nominations for best picture, best director, best screenplay for Jack Fincher and acting mentions for Gary Oldman and Amanda Seyfried.
Chloé Zhao's Nomadland followed with three nominations, including for best picture, best director and best actress for Frances McDormand.
