Chloé Zhao's Nomadland dominated the nominations for the 2021 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) International Awards with six mentions across 11 categories.
On Friday, as the competition for the 10th AACTA International Awards, including new global TV categories, were unveiled, Zhao's American road movie continued its run as an early awards season contender by picking up best director and best screenplay nominations and a best actress mention for Frances McDormand for her role in Nomadland.
Florian Zeller's The Father, Aaron Sorkin's The Trial of the Chicago 7 and David Fincher's Mank also picked up four nominations each.
