Russia.Vladimir Putin has launched an all-out war on Ukraine with tanks and troops crossing the border from Belarus.Missiles and bombs have been reported to have gone off while explosions have been seen across the country.It has led to Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy introducing martial law overnight, which has had a knock-on effect throughout the nation.That includes the suspension of the Ukrainian Premier League for a minimum of 30 days, despite its return being planned for Friday.The league was supposed to resume this week following its winter break but the delay has come as the country braces itself for Putin’s invasion.It will also throw Ukraine’s international football into disarray as well, including their next fixtures.The national team were set to take on Scotland in Glasgow, which is planned for March 24.And the British government has already insisted that the Champions League final scheduled for May 28 should be moved from Russian city St Petersburg.There has been widespread condemnation of Putin after the invasion of Ukraine while residents have been desperately fleeing the country.The Ukraine government has appealed for calm but president Zelenskyy has stated that guns will be given to citizens who request them.Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Tom Tugendhat described the situation as a “human tragedy”.He said: "To see these columns of people forced out by naked aggression by Russia and by Vladimir Putin is horrific and extremely painful, and we should be thinking very clearly about the families torn apart, the lives separated.".
