Britain is set for a 31C heatwave next week after parts of the UK were covered in rain on Saturday. A tropical plume of air will bring one last scorcher before temperatures turn colder in Autumn.
The Met Office predicted September will be one of the warmest on record after August brought unstable weather conditions. Sunday will be mostly dry with sunny spells in England and Wales, forecasters say.
Temperatures across central and southern England will be around 20C.
