Britain is set to enjoy a sunny weekend, with temperatures reaching 24C, after a pleasant week. The Met Office says the mercury will be 7C above average on Saturday, making September one of the warmest on record.
The weekend is expected to be "largely dry, bright and fine", according to forecasters. On Saturday, most parts of the country are expected to stay dry and sunny.
Scattered showers are expected over southwest England, but other than that it will be a fine day. On Sunday, most of the country will also experience sunny weather - but some scattered showers might occur in the far South at the beginning of the day.
