Rob Rinder launches a fun new travel show, Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, tonight but the lighthearted programme couldn't be further away from the trauma the star has been experiencing in recent months.TV star Rob, 45, will be joined by pal Rylan Clark to follow in the footsteps of romantic poet Lord Byron in the BBC Two series as they take a cultural tour of Venice, Florence and Rome, with plenty of laughs along the way.

But Rob's recent TV appearances have been much more sobering as he has spoken out about the fear that he and his loved ones have been feeling over the conflict in Gaza and attitudes about it in the UK.

In October, Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a sudden attack on Israel and in response, Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration retaliated with a bombardment that has demolished neighbourhoods in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

Rob, who lost two friends in the attack on Israel, told Good Morning Britain in October: "My mum's sitting there saying she feels unsafe. There's less than 270,000 Jews in this country, and my nephew, kids as young as seven are going to school today and they do so under risk. There's a chance they're not going to come home. "Sending your kids to school shouldn't be an act of courage. That's the lived experience of Jewish kids just going to school, of shop owners in London and in other cities, and we've got a lived memory of what that means not to be safe because of your religion, because of being Jewish. "And it's worth remembering that when you think about how you're going to respond today." Rob became emotional in the interview as he continued: "Whatever happens in the Middle East should have no impact on the safety of our communities," calling on viewers to "stand alongside us.
