Much of Britain will see showery weather this weekend as the miserable start to September continues. Downpours are expected to make for unpleasant conditions at the beginning of next week too, before tropical maritime air brings back the sunshine with temperatures into the 20s.
Before that though rain will cover much of northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland on Saturday, moving eastward across the country throughout the day.
High winds are also on the cards with temperatures as low as a chilly 8C overnight and frost in the far north. The south will be shared much of the wet weather with temperatures getting as high as 20C.
