Britain's baking hot April could mean we get a soaking this summer, forecasters have warned. Last month was one of the five warmest Aprils on record but analysis of previous years show hot Aprils are usually followed by wetter than average summers.
Most recently, 2011 saw Brits bask in sky-high April temperatures before shivering through the coldest summer of the past 26 years.
Before that, 2007’s hot April was followed by a flood-ravaged summer - the second-wettest for a century.
