Little Britain could be set for a reboot in a new format – despite recently being dropped from streaming platforms due to concerns about some of its content.

Former stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas, who wrote the show together, are in talks to make a podcast that could see a return for the much-loved comedy.

Matt confirmed in March they had been in talks with streaming giant Netflix to bring back the BBC sketch show – which began its life on radio in 2000 before moving to TV three years later.

It came under fire this year over characters such as Ting Tong, a Thai mail order bride played by Matt, and Desiree DeVere, a black woman played in full blackface by David.
