Mike Perry is doing away with coaches in a bid to return to winning ways in the UFC. The American welterweight has lost five of his last seven fights and has grown frustrated with coaches giving advice when they are not the ones competing in the Octagon.
His defeats include a submission loss to Donald Cerrone - who faced Conor McGregor in January this year - and a brutal Fight-of-the-Night bout with Vicente Luque.
Perry previously trained at the highly-regarded Fusion X-Cel Performance gym in Florida but the 28-year-old insists he only needs one person in his corner during future fights. “My girlfriend, just her,” Perry told MMA Junkie on Thursday. “If not, her and her friend.” “I’m not listening to any coaches right now,” he added.
