Two police officers were injured in what has been described as an 'unprovoked' knife attack in the street on Wednesday afternoon (July 26).
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, raced to the scene of the violent attack on Wood Road, on the border with Stretford and Whalley Range, at around 4pm.
Officers had initially been responding to a collision involving a moped, which had sped away from them after it was spotted being 'driven erratically' a short while earlier.
