West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is the latest to be considered for a role that Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Gabri Veiga and others have been considered for as Pep Guardiola looks to reinforce his squad for the new season.
Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez have both left the Etihad to leave the Blues mulling over how to replace them. Paqueta only joined West Ham from Lyon last summer for a club record £51m and the East London club - who have already banked £105m for Rice from Arsenal in this window - would want significantly more than that.
Guardiola spoke last week of how an extra £10m-15m was placed on the value of players when City enquired about them. City have already signed Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea for £30m this summer to take on some of the role that Gundogan had, while the growing feeling that Silva will stay is another boost given his openness to a new challenge.
