Celebrity landlord Tom Kerridge is backing a new bid to save Britain's battered boozers - calling on the government to let them re-open in a Covid-secure way no matter what tier they are in.
The TV chef is supporting calls to relax rules that have forced thousands of pubs to shut. While pubs which serve meals can open to households in Tier 2 - traditional 'wet' pubs have been forced to close.
Now an industry coalition, including the Campaign for Real Ale, is calling for an urgent rethink. Launching the Pubs Matter campaign, they want to see Covid-secure pubs be allowed to reopen - regardless of tier.
