After the weekend's thunder and lightning left people drenched and some buildings flooded out more of the same is expected. The weather resulted in a popluar Manchester city centre pub being closed.
The Bridge Tavern on Bridge Street has posted a notice in the window which says: "We apologise to our customers, the pub closed to rain damage open again soon, thank you." And, a house fire in Lancashire is beleived to have been caused by a lightning strike.
Firefighters were called to a blaze at a property in Thornton Cleveleys, on Sunday afternoon (July 9). Four crews from Bispham, Wesham, St Annes, South Shore responded to the call on Bluebell Close.
Also in attendance was an aerial ladder platform from Blackpool. Pictures shared on social media showed plumes of smoke coming from the roof of the property.
