Tennis star Riley Opelka was left dumbfounded after he was penalised for wearing his cap during a trophy presentation.The 24-year-old won the third title of his career in Dallas this past Sunday, defeating fellow American Jenson Brooksby 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/3) in the final.However, he would later receive a code violation letter from the ATP for a very strange reason.Opelka posted the letter on Twitter which read: “Mr Opelka chose to keep his hat on during the prize presentation ceremony.”The world number 20, who usually dons a Fila hat during his matches, issued a sarcastic response of: “Too good @atptour”, along with a clapping emoji.When asked by a fan if ATP chairman Andrea Gaudenzihad would ask him to delete his post, Opelka's savage response read: “He’s too busy not taking salary cuts while players are."Former player Andy Roddick, who wore hats throughout his career, lambasted the decision to penalise the big-serving star.“This is painfully stupid policy by the ATP,” Roddick, and many fans share the same view.
