A teenager was rushed to hospital with a deadly brain infection, which medics believe was caused when she squeezed a spot on her nose.
The 19-year-old, from the Chinese city of Ninghai, developed a fever as a result of the infection. It started when the teen, identified only by her surname Yang, squeezed a red spot on the tip of her nose, according to Chinese media.
Her right eye became swollen and her temperature soared. Dr Han Kun, deputy director of the hospital's department of neurology, told the Ningbo Evening News that the girl was in a critical condition when she was taken to hospital.
