Greater Manchester Police issued a taxi driver with a ticket for driving down tram tracks in the city centre. He was found guilty of driving without due care and attention by the force's Transport Unit.
When he was stopped by officers, he also claimed that his passenger had told him to drive down the tram tracks as a shortcut.
The incident was recounted on the Greater Manchester Police Manchester City Centre Twitter account @GMPCityCentre in a 1.33am post this morning.
It read: " #GMPTransportunit officers traveling through the city centre have issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention to a local taxi driver.
