Beth Gibbons has announced a one-off live show for 2025, taking place in London on the same weekend as Glastonbury.The Portishead singer, songwriter and lyricist will be heading to Camden in the summer, and performing a show at the Roundhouse venue on June 27.It has been shared as a stand-alone date, and comes in celebration of her debut solo album, ‘Lives Outgrown’. Shared back in May, the project came 10 years in the making, and included singles such as ‘Lost Changes’, ‘Reaching Out’ and ‘Floating On A Moment’.Tickets for the Roundhouse show will go on sale this Friday (November 29) at 9am GMT.

Courtney Love, Thurston Moore, My Bloody Valentine’s Deb Googe and Portishead’s Adrian Utley have been working on a project together at Konk Studios in London, along with PJ Harvey collaborator Rob Ellis.It looks as though they’re working on a Marianne Faithfull covers project, per an Instagram post Googe shared on Tuesday (September 10).In the post, Googe wrote, “I spent a day in the Kinks‘ studio, covering Marianne Faithfull songs,” alongside a range of photos from the studio.The producer Ben Christophers made a post, too, in which he called the meeting “an amazing experience in the merging of music and film.. Portishead are reissuing their classic live album ‘Roseland NYC Live’ on CD and vinyl for its 25th anniversary.‘Roseland NYC Live 25’, a remastered version of the live album recorded in New York City’s Roseland Ballroom on November 1998, will arrive on April 26. It will have an expanded tracklisting to include ‘Undenied’ and ‘Numb’ from the accompanying concert film, as well as the full-length performance of ‘Western Eyes’, a snippet of which played over the credits of the film.Meanwhile, the reissue includes the original versions of ‘Sour Times’ and ‘Roads’, which had been previously substituted on the album release with recordings from other gigs.Portishead’s Adrian Utley, who oversaw the full production of the reissue, said: “I’ve always held the memory of this show which we played before our second album was released.

Tricky has spoken to NME about the new reissue of his debut album ‘Maxinquaye’, as well as sharing his memories of The Specials‘ Terry Hall, and shooting down rumours of an alleged fight with Portishead.The Bristol-born artist (real name Adrian Thaws) is known for co-founding Massive Attack, who spear-headed the ‘trip-hop’ scene along with Portishead and Tricky himself. He released his debut solo album ‘Maxinquaye’ in 1995, which featured Tricky on production and singing with his then-partner, Martina Topley Bird.

Portishead‘s Beth Gibbons has teamed up with Afghan girl band the Miraculous Love Kids for a cover of Joy Division‘s ‘Atmosphere’ and David Bowie‘s ‘Heroes’.The release entitled ‘Atmosphere/Heroes’, blends the two songs together and sees Gibbons fronting the track with the group. Portishead and skating brand Stüssy have announced a new merchandise collaboration.The clothing brand announced its upcoming collaboration with the Bristol band via social media on Wednesday (June 22) with a video comprised of stylised footage of Portishead performing live.The collaboration will come in the form of a blue t-shirt that features the cover of Portishead’s 1994 album, ‘Dummy’. Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, IDLES, Portishead and a number of other musicians appear in a new film about mental health called Man Down.The film, which is directed by Gemma Jennison, founder of the Man Down Programme, focuses on men working in the music industry and looks at topics such as isolation, depression and suicide.Jennison, a qualified mental health nurse based in Bristol, told BBC News that male musicians in particular were at high risk of experiencing serious mental health issues.She launched the Man Down Programme after seeing a number of people she cared about struggling with mental illness and hiding their emotions. “I wanted to look at what the trends were and why men were struggling,” she explained.“I decided that in order to do that music industries needed to be accountable or have discussions openly about what they did with artists or any of their staff about wellbeing.”The documentary will be used to address the issues it discusses through training and support programmes.A post shared by MAN DOWN PROGRAMME (@mandownprogramme_)A number of Bristol artists including Gavin Thorpe, IDLES’ Adam Devonshire and Portishead’s Geoff Barrow feature in Man Down.
