Posthumous Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry album announced with Greentea Peng feature released

Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry album has been announced, with the first single featuring Greentea Peng released today (November 15).The influential Jamaican singer and musician passed away aged 85 on August 29, 2021. No cause of death was given.Two years later, a posthumous album entitled ‘King Perry’ will be released on February 2, 2024, via False Idols. The album was written, recorded, and produced by Perry together with producer Daniel Boyle before his death during the COVID pandemic.

V&A East Museum in London to open with exhibition celebrating Black British music

Bethnal Green’s The Young V&A also reopened in June.Its upcoming expansion is in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in an area called the East Bank, which is home to a new arts, innovation and education hub.

Tricky on ‘Maxinquaye’: “I do appreciate it, but I can also see the damage done to my mind”

Tricky has spoken to NME about the new reissue of his debut album ‘Maxinquaye’, as well as sharing his memories of The Specials‘ Terry Hall, and shooting down rumours of an alleged fight with Portishead.The Bristol-born artist (real name Adrian Thaws) is known for co-founding Massive Attack, who spear-headed the ‘trip-hop’ scene along with Portishead and Tricky himself. He released his debut solo album ‘Maxinquaye’ in 1995, which featured Tricky on production and singing with his then-partner, Martina Topley Bird.
