Ex Guns N’ Roses manager confirms TV series about ’80s sunset strip
Guns N’ Roses manager Vicky Hamilton has confirmed that she is working on a new series about the ‘80s sunset strip. The manager famously worked with an array of some of the biggest names in rock throughout the ‘80s, including Mötley Crüe, Poison, Styrper and Faster Pussycat. She was also behind the managing of Guns N’ Roses during the earlier years of their career – booking them shows in the time before they released their huge ‘Appetite For Destruction’ album and helping them seal a milestone deal at Geffen Records. In the time since, she has gone on to share a series of releases surrounding the rock icons, including the 2016 autobiography Appetite for Dysfunction: A Cautionary Tale, and a 1993 painting of frontman Axl Rose that she created nearing the end of her time working with the band. Now, during a new interview with Loudwire, Hamilton has revealed that she has another project on the way: a television series centred around the ‘80s sunset strip.Speaking about how both the new project and the 2016 autobiography relate to the 1993 artwork, titled Axl’s Glow, she told the outlet: “It was a very sad time. I was trying to figure out what had actually happened and why it went down like that.”“I think once I started writing the book, I kind of got a sense of why that happened, so that I would write this book,” she continued.
