KoRn have announced a 30th-anniversary stadium show with Evanescence, Gojira, Scars On Broadway and more joining them.The nu-metal icons will be celebrating three decades of their self-titled debut album at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium on Saturday, October 5. Evanescence, Gojira, Scars On Broadway, Spiritbox, Vended and Daron Malakian will serve as support for the show.General ticket sales will commence on Friday, March 8 at 10am PT (1pm ET / 6pm GMT).

Deftones and Gojira‘s joint US tour wrapped on Saturday (May 28), and they came together for a Sepultura cover to celebrate – see footage below.During the gig at Minneapolis’ The Armory venue, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno joined Gojira on stage to perform Sepultura’s 1993 track ‘Territory’.The bands’ tour, alongside support act Poppy, was first announced in February 2020 and was due to take place that summer. Gojira have rescheduled their upcoming UK and European tour due to COVID-19 restrictions.The French metal titans were supposed to hit the road last month, beginning in Helsinki, with stop-offs in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin, Prague, Budapest and other cities throughout January into February and March.However, they’ve announced that they will now kick off their European tour on July 5 in Brussels and conclude it in Milan on July 31 at Carroponte.The UK and Ireland leg of the tour, meanwhile, has moved to 2023 and will begin on February 11 in Dublin and conclude at London’s Alexandra Palace on February 22.Gojira will then play rescheduled shows in Bordeaux, Paris, Luxembourg and Lyon between February 24 and 28, 2023.“We cannot express how much we appreciate your continued patience and support while we worked through last month’s postponement,” the band said in a social media post.“Despite our best efforts to resume touring this month, the continued uncertainty in various territories has left us with no other choice but to reschedule the remaining dates of the tour as well.“In light of this unfortunate news we are pleased to share the rescheduled dates for the entire European Tour below.”A post shared by Gojira Official (@gojiraofficial)Original tickets for the tour – which sees support from special guests Alien Weaponry and Employed To Serve – remain valid.

Gojira have become the latest band to have some fossils named after them.The French metal band have had a trio of “brittle star fossils” named in their honour by scientists at Luxembourg’s Natur Musee and America’s Florida Museum (via Kerrang!).The brittle stars, which are a similar shape to starfish, were discovered in France, Luxembourg and Austria on what was once the Jurassic Tethys Ocean bed.The scientists named the three fossils Ophiogojira labadiei, Ophiogojira andreui and Ophioduplantiera noctiluca.In a report published by the scientists, the name is explained in more detail.They wrote: ​“Genus named in honour of French metal band Gojira, for producing songs of an unfathomable intensity, beautifully dark and heavy, and exploring the

Deftones have been forced to postpone their North American tour until next year, it was announced yesterday.Originally set to take place next month, Deftones said that due to “the imminence of the tour, and the pandemic lasting longer than we anticipated, we came to the realisation that uncertainty still remains in different markets throughout the country”.The statement from the band continued: “This is not an easy decision, but one we felt necessary.
