Deftones teamed up with System Of A Down for a one-off co-headlining gig – here’s what went down.The two bands took over San Fransisco’s Golden Gate Park on Saturday (August 17) which saw roughly 50,000 fans in attendance.
The likes of The Mars Volta, Viagra Boys, and VOWWS served as opening acts for the show.The show marked System Of A Down’s only live performance of this year so far aside from their sold-out gig at this year’s edition of Sick New World festival in Las Vegas back in April.Deftones took the stage and performed a jam-packed 15-song set which included their hits such as ‘Be Quite And Drive (Far Away)’, ‘My Own Summer (Shove It)’, ‘Digital Bath’, ‘Cherry Waves’ and ‘Change (In The House Of Flies)’.‘Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)’‘My Own Summer (Shove It)’‘Tempest’‘Swerve City’‘Diamond Eyes’‘Digital Bath’‘Needles and Pins’‘Cherry Waves’‘Feiticeira’‘Lotion’‘Rosemary’‘Rocket Skates’‘Change (In the House of Flies)’‘Genesis’‘7 Words’System Of A Down closed out the night and opened up with ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’, which was one of the two tracks they released back in 2020.
Their 25-song set saw Serj Tankian and co dust off some rareties including ‘Mr. Jack’ which marked their first time performing the song since 2019, ‘P.L.U.C.K’ and ‘Know’ which was their first performance of the songs since 2018.
