Check out footage of the moment below.The Alice In Chains guitarist and solo artist aired off the track during the first night of his ‘I Want Blood’ tour – celebrating his recently released solo album of the same name.Launching the North American leg of the tour with an opening night at Niagara Falls in Ontario last Friday (January 31), the grunge icon caught fans off guard by performing the song for the first time since November 1993.The track was originally shared by the band on their fan-favourite release ‘Dirt’ back in 1992, and hadn’t made its way onto any setlists – for both for AIC and solo members – since that following year.For the tour, the singer, songwriter and guitarist was joined by Better Lovers and former Dillinger Escape Plan singer Greg Piciato, who contributed vocals for some of the vocal parts from late Alice In Chains frontman Layne Staley.Check out footage of ‘Hate To Feel’ being performed live in Ontario here:The rest of the set included various tracks from Cantrell’s latest record – which marked his fourth LP as a solo artist and featured contributions from Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan.It also included other classic tracks from the iconic 1992 album including ‘Would?’, ‘Rooster’, ‘Down In A Hole’ and ‘Them Bones’.The current leg of the ‘I Want Blood’ tour includes stops in North Carolina, Georgia, Illinois and more, and Cantrell is set to bring the shows over the pond later this summer.

Billy Corgan has announced a 2025 North American tour in celebration of 30th anniversary of the Smashing Pumpkins‘ ‘Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness’.The Smashing Pumpkins’ frontman will embark on the tour with his new solo project – Billy Corgan and The Machines Of God – who will hit the road on the “A Return To Zero” tour which will see the group commemorate both the 30th anniversary of the Pumpkins’ third LP as well as the 25th anniverary of their double LP ‘Machina’.The “A Return to Zero” tour will reintroduce a four-piece, two set guitar lineup – comprised of Corgan, recently recruited Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Kiki Wong, drummer Jake Hayden and bassist Kid Tigrrr (Jenna Fournier) – and will kick off at the Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore. MD on June 7.

Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou of Silverchair are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album ‘Frogstomp’ – without frontman Daniel Johns.Celebrations were marked by a sold-out event at Sydney’s Metro Social on Wednesday (March 26), which saw drummer Gillies and bassist Joannou interviewed by triple j’s Richard Kingsmill to revisit the stories behind the seminal debut album.Released in 1995, ‘Frogstomp’ propelled the then-teenage trio from Newcastle, Australia, to international fame, with breakout single ‘Tomorrow’ reaching Number One on both the Billboard Alternative and Rock Airplay charts, as well as the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. Today, it has sold over 10million copies globally.Frontman Daniel Johns was absent and remains estranged from his former bandmates since they announced an “indefinite hibernation” in 2011, saying that the project was “no longer fulfilling creatively” and had stopped “being fun”.“It’s an incredible achievement and a great moment in time to look back on and celebrate,” Joannou said at the event, per news.com.au.

Nirvana perform live and expressed his regret that Kurt Cobain was never able to meet their grandson.Tony Hawk and Nirvana have a shared history, with the legendary skater having seen the iconic Seattle grunge band perform back in 1991. Beyond that, Hawk’s son Riley would go on to marry Kurt Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean, with the couple welcoming their son Ronin Walker in September last year.Now, Tony Hawk has reflected on the “transformative” experience he had watching the band and spoken about Kurt after coming across a 1991 ticket stub from Nirvana’s Washington concert.In a now-expired Instagram Story – which has since been captured and posted onto Reddit – Hawk wrote about the 1991 gig: “Went straight from S.U.A.S [Shut Up And Skate] event at Houston Skatepark to this concert in 1991.

Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell has revealed that he and Metallica frontman James Hetfield have briefly discussed making music together.The soloist and Alice In Chains guitarist shared the news during a new issue of Metal Hammer, in which he took questions from fans.At one point in the interview, Cantrell was asked about his long-running friendship with the Metallica singer – namely whether the two had ever contemplated working together on new material.“James and I have talked about it, kind of,” he began. “We never had a formal conversation but I’ve jammed with him at Kirk’s [Hammett, Metallica guitarist] place.

Billed as Nudedragons, the band name is an anagram of Soundgarden and is the same name they used in 2010 when they reunited to play their first show since 1997.The Nudedragons members were joined by singer Shaina Shepherd at the 13th annual SMooCH concert that helps benefit the Seattle Children’s Hospital uncompensated care fund.

REEF have announced details of a new UK tour, celebrating 30 years of ‘Replenish’. Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan has spoken to NME about what the future holds for the band.The iconic frontman caught up with NME recently to discuss his upcoming show in London, celebrating the life of Mark Lanegan at a tribute gig at The Roundhouse. Set to be held tonight (December 5), the show is held at the Camden venue as it was the last venue the former Screaming Trees played in the city, and the date marks what would have been his 60th birthday.Gahan and Lanegan became friends after touring together in the ’00s, before going on to record together with Soulsavers and Humanist.Opening up about his time working with the grunge icon, who passed away in February 2022 at the age of 57, the Depeche Mode singer also told NME about what’s next for the band.Reflecting on life after the 2023 tour he and bandmate Martin Gore embarked on to celebrate the release of ‘Memento Mori’, Gahan said: “To be honest it’s taken me quite a while just to recover after the tour… It was fantastic and ended up being more than what Martin and I could have imagined in many ways.”He continued: “It was a great tour and I’ve just spent the last five months since I got home just trying to get back into my regular life of family, friends, a little bit of writing here and there, but to be honest I’m not that inspired by anything.”Later, he went on to reveal that he had begun the writing process again, but not with any plans for new material in mind.

Billy Corgan thinks Bill Burr might be his half-brother.The Smashing Pumpkins frontman revealed his theory on an episode of Howie Mandel’s Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast released today (November 26), after Mandel accidentally used an image of Burr instead of Corgan on the studio’s screen.The mistake prompted Corgan to tell an anecdote about his potential relationship with the Mandalorian actor, which, he revealed, he had never told before. “Most of my friends don’t even know this story,” he said.“About 10 years ago, one of my brothers was having a birthday party, and my stepmother was there, who was obviously married to my father,” he continued.

Pearl Jam brought their cover of Temple Of The Dog’s ‘Hunger Strike’ back to their setlist for the first time in 10 years during a gig in Sydney.The band last covered the song live in October 2014 at Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit, performing it with Temple of the Dog’s late frontman Chris Cornell. Notably they have not performed it since Cornell died in 2017 at the age of 52.They dusted the cover off again for the final show of their ‘Dark Matter‘ world tour yesterday (November 23).

Billy Corgan has revealed that he has entered the auction to win Courtney Love‘s handwritten lyrics to the Hole song ‘Violet’.The Smashing Pumpkins frontman took to his official Instagram account to post a video clip in which he shared that he has purchased three tickets for the auction of Love’s handwritten lyrics for Hole’s 1994 track. The auction is part of a fundraiser by the wildlife sanctuary Ellis Park, which is running until December 15.

Courtney Love is preparing to auction her handwritten lyrics to Hole’s ‘Violet’ for charity, and has told NME the song is “not just about Billy Corgan”.The song was the opening track to the band’s second album ‘Live Through This’ in 1994, and was written by Love three years earlier during Hole’s tour ahead of the release of their 1991 debut album ‘Pretty On The Inside’.Now, Love has donated the original handwritten pages of lyrics for the song to an auction for a fundraiser by the wildlife sanctuary Ellis Park, which is running until December 15. All proceeds will go to the charity, which is dedicated to caring for rescued animals in Sumatra.
