Zack O’Malley Greenburg Alice in Chains members Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney, Mike Inez and William DuVall have sold their catalogs with the band to Round Hill Music, a rep for the company has confirmed. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but sources tell Variety the deal was for $50 million.The Round Hill deal does not encompass copyrights belonging to the estates of original singer Layne Staley or original bassist Mike Starr, who passed away in 2002 and 2011, respectively; on Monday their respective estates announced they had sold their music rights to Primary Wave.Round Hill will receive a 100% interest in the four current members’ copyrights to Alice In Chains’ masters and publishing — 94 compositions and 159 recordings — along with neighboring rights.

Mötley Crüe have announced the cancellation of their headline slot at Boardwalk Rock festival next month as frontman Vince Neil recovers from a “required medical procedure” – find out more below.The band were due to make their return to the stage at the festival in Maryland’s Ocean City on May 17.The performance would have marked their first since they postponed their planned Las Vegas residency last month, but they’ve now told fans they won’t be appearing as the singer recovers. They’ll be replaced by Alice in Chains.In a statement, the band explained: “Motley Crue will be unable to perform at Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, MD, on May 17 as Vince Neil is recuperating after a required medical procedure recently advised by his doctors.“Vince’s health comes first, and we fully support him in prioritizing his recovery.

Almost Famous.The Alice In Chains guitarist and singer made a cameo appearance in Crowe’s 1992 movie Singles, along with his bandmates as well as members of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. Cantrell also had a role in Crowe’s 1996 film Jerry Maguire, which starred Tom Cruise.During a recent episode of The Adamantium Podcast, the musician explained that he was almost cast in Almost Famous.The comedy coming-of-age film was based on Crowe’s experiences in the early ’70s when he was a teenage music journalist for Rolling Stone, touring with Led Zeppelin, Eagles, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell has revealed that he and Metallica frontman James Hetfield have briefly discussed making music together.The soloist and Alice In Chains guitarist shared the news during a new issue of Metal Hammer, in which he took questions from fans.At one point in the interview, Cantrell was asked about his long-running friendship with the Metallica singer – namely whether the two had ever contemplated working together on new material.“James and I have talked about it, kind of,” he began. “We never had a formal conversation but I’ve jammed with him at Kirk’s [Hammett, Metallica guitarist] place.

My Hero Academia.Based on the manga series by Kōhei Horikoshi, the show follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers who is enrolled in a prestigious high school for superheroes after being granted a “quirk” by the world’s greatest hero, All Might.The series became a worldwide hit following its debut in April 2016. The show has also spawned three animated films, titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission.A live-action film adaptation is currently in the works at Netflix, from Alice In Borderland director Shinsuke Sato.Prior to the seventh season, My Hero Academia consisted of 138 episodes in total, with every season having 25 episodes apart from the first which has 13.The seventh season, which is set to conclude later this year, will have 21 episodes in total, bringing the total episode count to 159.The manga, which first began in 2014, spans 40 volumes in total as of April 2024.This, however, doesn’t include the various spin-offs, including My Hero Academia: Smash!!, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions.

Bush have appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform their hit song, ‘Glycerine’.On the Tuesday night (January 16) episode of The Tonight Show, Bush’s Gavin Rossdale performed the track alone backed by a string section. With a distorted electric guitar in hand, the frontman sang the 1996 ballad with heartfelt emotion.

Nickelback track ‘Side Of A Bullet’.As reported by Guitar World, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger once played the track, which appears on the band’s fifth studio album ‘For All The Right Reasons’, to Dimebag’s brother, Vinnie Paul, asking if the Pantera drummer would redo the drum parts. While he declined, he suggested the Canadian band use some of Dimebag’s unused material instead.The two groups had a close friendship and ‘Side Of A Bullet’ was written from the lyrical perspective of a Pantera fan seeking revenge for Dimebag’s death.With permission from Dimebag’s girlfriend Rita Haney, Nickelback were sent a number of solo outtakes from Pantera’s albums ‘Vulgar Display Of Power’ and ‘Far Beyond Driven’.“They were our brothers,” bassist Mike Kroeger said in a previous interview (via Guitar World).
