Smashing Pumpkins enlisted the help of Peter Hook for a cover of the latter’s former band Joy Division‘s ‘No Love Lost’ to close out their headlining set at their The World Is A Vampire festival in Mexico this past weekend.Hook – who was also on the line-up with his band Peter Hook and The Lights – had been a member of Joy Division from 1976 till 1978. Hook started off the performance by thanking Billy Corgan and the rest of the band for taking care of his son and Smashing Pumpkins bassist Jeff Bates.Watch the performance below.Hook last teamed up with his son and other members of Smashing Pumpkins in March 2021 when he unveiled a new version of Joy Division’s classic track ‘Ceremony’, featuring Bates on bass duty and Pumpkins’ Jeff Schroeder on guitar.Smashing Pumpkins most recently released ‘Act II’ of their new rock opera ‘ATUM’ in February.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has today (March 1) released its newest season, Reign of Fire. This newest season focuses on the alliance between in-game baddies the Black Tusk and the True Sons.If you haven’t played The Division 2 in a while, there are plenty of new story beats going on. Selome Hailu United Talent Agency (UTA) announced on Tuesday that it has launched a fashion division led by Anne Nelson. UTA Fashion will focus on expanding client business in the fashion and beauty space. Nelson will be responsible for helping clients drive culture and inspire trends, including by tapping into the scope of UTA’s pre-existing operations across entertainment, marketing and business. A veteran in the fashion industry, Nelson’s prior experiences include decades offering mentorship to major players within the fashion industry. She is based in New York. “Anne is one of the most respected fashion executives with deep and established relationships across the industry,” said UTA Board member and partner Blair Kohan and partner Darnell Strom in a joint statement. “She has a true passion for her clients and has been the architect behind many top career moments in the fashion world. For UTA, bringing her on board is a natural next step in the work we’ve been doing in this space, and we can’t wait to see what she will accomplish.”

The media company on Tuesday announced the launch of Blumhouse Games, a new subsidiary that will produce and publish “indie-budget” video games (below $10 million) to “enable innovation and pushing creative boundaries” that is “in the spirit of its film business.” The company has appointed veteran video-game producer Zach Wood (above left) as president and ex-PlayStation exec Don Sechler (above right) as CFO of the new venture. Blumhouse Games will partner with independent game developers to bring their creative vision to life via original, horror-themed games for console, PC and mobile audiences.

Joy Division-themed bar in Manchester has divided opinion across social media.The bar, which has opened today (February 17) in the Northern Quarter of the band’s hometown, features a mural of late frontman Ian Curtis in the corner and a green neon ‘Unknown Pleasures’ sign – in reference to their landmark 1979 debut – on the wall. Described by its owners as “a love letter to Manchester music” by its own, it is serving Japanese fusion dishes with ‘Manchester vibes’.

A new bar in the Northern Quarter features an Ian Curtis mural by the same artist that had his work sensationally painted over last year. Disorder, which has been inspired by the music of Joy Division and is opening this weekend, commissioned street artist Akse P19 to paint the mural.
