                    BBC's Deborah James 'cried' after dismissal from hospital following 'touch and go' period
                                        Deborah James updated her 347,000 Instagram followers on her ongoing battle with stage 4 bowel cancer yesterday.The journalist, 40, presents BBC Radio 5 Live's podcast You, Me and the Big C and is also a newspaper columnist.Deborah took to Instagram to share a tearjerking video montage that captured her gruelling health battle, set to the inspirational tune of Rise Up by Andra Day. Next to the clips of her cancer treatment, which ended in her walking out of the hospital doors, the star gave an emotional update on her health.She wrote: “Two and a half weeks ago it was touch and go if I made it through the night. “Today after 18 days across two hospitals I walked down the steps of the @royalmarsden discharged from life as an in-patient."Deborah went on to admit that, while her health struggles are far from over, she felt that she had overcome a lot in the past few weeks. “I’m not out of the woods yet, and I’ll be back in soon, but I’ve reached a point that seemed insurmountable weeks ago,” she explained.“I cried on my last IV treatment today.The trauma of it all is very raw and real. “I’m realising I’ve been through a lot.
