One of the rare benefits of listening to singles from Spirit of the Beehive's 2021 project ENTERTAINMENT, DEATH is that they remind you how much of a self-contained body of work the album is.
An experimental rock epic with no recent parallel, ENTERTAINMENT, DEATH ranked at No. 31 on our year-end albums list. Today, we get an animated video for the album closer "DEATH." While one of the album's calmer moments, "DEATH" is far from peaceful, approaching the end of life with an ambivalence lurking below the serene, swirling melodies.
The animated video directed by Jeff Watterson and Boy Tillekens picks up on the thread of all-consuming loneliness in its depiction of a family of trolls getting gradually abducted by who-knows-what to who-knows-where.
