Daily Star's biggest headlines straight to your inbox!Talented British snooker player, Jake Nicholson, has passed away at the age of 28 after a battle with cancer, the World Snooker Tour has confirmed.As a youngster, Nicholson - who is from Flamborough, in North Yorkshire - represented England at an Under-21 level, and, in 2019, he won a Challenge Tour event when he beat Andrew Pagett 3-1 in the final.He was also present at the World Championship qualifiers in 2020, and he bowed out in a losing effort to Jak Jones.The talented amateur reached the Last 16 at the English Amateur Championship during the same year, however, he passed away on Friday following a battle cancer."We are deeply saddened to hear that Jake has passed away.
