A mum claimed she "slipped" while putting her car into reverse before smashing into her ex-boyfriend. Angela Runswick made the claim to a jury at Liverpool Crown Court.
The mum-of-three's excuse was not accepted by them however, the Liverpool Echo reported. The jury convicted her of dangerous driving after she left ex-boyfriend Christian Robinson seemingly unconcious on the road.
Judge Neil Flewitt, QC, said her defence was "ridiculous", calling it "the most obvious piece of dangerous driving". At around 9.10pm on December 19 last year a witness "heard a loud commotion outside" in Wallasey, the court heard.
