On top of this, hundreds of flights from EasyJet and British Airways were cancelled leading to havoc on the ground.Birmingham International is in its second day of "mayhem" while Manchester airport has been described as a "complete nightmare".Hours of delays and huge security queues have been reported at Manchester with videos showing people struggling to even enter the airport.Gatwick and Heathrow have both seen flights cancelled by EasyJet and BA too.
And, it’s emerged that major delays are being caused by a combination of issues including severe staff shortages and a sharp rise in the number of people looking to go on holiday after Covid restrictions have ended.
