But with four midfielders set to leave, signing Fernandez could be key as United look to replenish their squad for next season.United have been eyeing a new defensive midfielder for some time, and with Nemanja Matic confirming his departure at the end of the season, they will need reinforcements.
But he isn't the only one, as Paul Pogba is also expected to leave along with Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata.The 21-year-old River Plate star will have a £20.6million release clause this summer, and is currently on the radar of Real Madrid and Manchester City as United have been urged to act fast.
