Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Simon Cowell’s new show Walk The Line has been hit by tech ­blunders.During filming for the ­final, there was chaos when a few of the voting pads given to the studio audience failed to work.It threw the show into crisis just moments before its big winner was due to be announced.An insider at entertainment website TVZone said: “Minutes into the voting period, it was clear that the studio audience were having problems casting their votes on the keypads.“As more and more people complained about the problems to the production staff, the independent adjudicator was eventually called in to talk to the audience.”Producers were forced to extend the voting period while the technical faults were resolved.The incident is likely to be edited out before.
