Britain's fasting and slowest markets of the year have been revealed by Rightmove, with two parts of Manchester named amongst the quickest markets for selling a house.

Rightmove’s speed of market tracker tool has named Carluke in Lanarkshire as Britain’s fastest market this year, with sellers in the area finding a buyer in an average of 15 days.

Across Great Britain, it is currently taking 60 days on average to find a buyer. Nine out of the ten slowest markets to find a buyer are coastal towns, including Brixham in Devon and Minehead in Somerset.

Terraced houses are currently finding buyers fastest at 51 days, while detached houses are taking the longest to sell at 73 days.
