MMA clash against Dilano Taylor - later finding out he had a broken eye socket. The PFL Challengers Series 2 bout was called to a halt between the first and second rounds after referee Josh Rutgers spotted Martin's severely swollen left eye.Despite initially wanting to carry on, the 28-year-old was forced to accept the decision with attention turning to his health as Taylor added a seventh consecutive victory at welterweight.Martin's manager AJ Ariosa later offered an update on the incident, with fans watching on at home left baffled as to what had happened between rounds.MMA Junkie's Nolan King tweeted: "Just spoke with Mark Martin’s manager AJ Ariosa who tells me his client is still in the ER getting evaluated for potential surgery. "He says the injury occurred when Martin blew his nose and the pressure pushed his eye out of its socket."Not only was Martin forced to have medical treatment after only his second professional defeat, but he also wasn't able to get on a flight home due to concerns over cabin pressure. Is this the worst MMA injury in recent memory?

Give us your thoughts in the comments section King added: "Martin broke his orbital, but will avoid surgery. He is unable to fly due to pressure concerns, so will drive home from Orlando to Phoenix.

Quite the roadtrip, I’ve got to imagine."Martin has since said on Instagram : "Finally out of the hospital. My phone been blowing up so sorry if I didn’t get back to you yet but thanks for checking in. "My eye should be good.

I have a fractured orbital bone and some blood around the retina so my vision is blurry right now but will return once the blood goes down."S*** happens I know what I signed up for.
