With the cost of food on the rise, shoppers are keen to spot a bargain. But when one woman shared a seemingly good deal for cheap chicken from Morrisons, not everyone was impressed.
Sharing a photo of a supermarket fridge full of the packs of meat, she said: "Morrisons today £1 chicken drumsticks (5) £1 wings (6)." While some bargain hunters got quite excited about the offer - "Get stocking up, I want my wings", said one - others were quick to point out that for 500g packs, it's not actually that cheap at all. Another added: "This isn't a bargain by the way.
Just because they put a yellow sticker on it people forget to look at the weight and compare it to other stores. For 500g it's more than elsewhere.
Supermarkets know how to fool some people it seems lol." And from looking at the prices at other supermarkets, it does appear that the sceptics have a point.
