dating guru has warned of a dangerous sex trend.Nadia Bokody is concerned by the amount of young people who are failing to use contraception. While some protect themselves against pregnancy, many aren't paying enough attention to the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases.A 2021 study published in the Sexologies journal showed 15 to 24-year-olds account for half of STI cases reported annually, which may because just 41% of participants used condoms regularly. And concerningly, Nadia noted how many of her own followers aren't taking proper precautions in the bedroom.

She told news.com.au : "Perhaps most strikingly though, is the fact at the same time as STI rates are exploding, (cases reached an all-time high for the sixth consecutive year last year in the US according to CDC data, and have climbed steadily for the last five years in Australia), knowledge surrounding them – specifically the risk of contracting them – remains low." Nadia cited some comments she received when she put out an anonymous poll on Instagram. She continued: “'When I’m seeing someone regularly, I usually stop using condoms, especially if they’re on the pill,' a survey respondent revealed.“'I don’t sleep around so I’m not really worried about STIs,' another explained."It’s clear education around the role and function of barrier protection is lacking; there’s an ongoing belief condoms are merely a safeguard against pregnancy, and not one of the only truly effective ways to dramatically reduce the risk of STI transmission."Others say they don't use condoms because it feels "more intimate" without them. And some women came forward to say they felt pressured not to use protection as their partners claim it makes sex pleasurable for them.Nadia.
