A total of 24 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the Scottish Government has confirmed. The latest figures for Scotland showed that 3,249 new cases had also been identified overnight, bringing the total number to 656,497.
The daily death toll of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days now stands at 9,267 since March 2020.
There are currently 823 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 55 being treated in intensive care.To date 4,321,350 people have received their first vaccination with 3,914,397 having a second jab.
It comes as Scots holidaymakers will face new travel restrictions unless they are triple-jabbed, as some countries tighten Covid entry rules.
