BBC One’s Rip Off Britain is back for a week-long special series of live shows, helping the nation to save money and tackle fraudsters.
The show, hosted by Gloria Hunniford, Julia Simerville and Angela Rippon, is on weekdays at 9.15am, highlighting simple ways consumers can make the most of their money.
On Tuesday, Janet from Lanarkshire contacted Rip Off Britain to warn viewers about a National Insurance phone scam. Angela Rippon told viewers: “Janet from Lanarkshire wrote in to say that she wants to alert viewers to phone calls she’s been getting, claiming that her National Insurance number has been hacked and that she needs to hand over her bank details to sort it out.” The former journalist and newsreader added that Janet has reported.
