A scientist in charge of leading Sweden’s fight against the coronavirus has said the UK has gone too far with its lockdown measures and should have stuck to its original strategy.
Expert Anders Tegnell, 63, holds daily press briefings where he - not politicians - outlines the country’s strategy. Under his guidance, restaurants, schools, bars and businesses remain open while Swedes have been told to maintain social distancing and good hygiene - namely washing their hands.
Speaking with The Mail On Sunday, he said Sweden was following the UK’s first approach of holding back going into full lockdown.
