Saoirse Ronan is set to make her UK stage debut in a feminist retelling of Shakespeare’s Macbeth in the Almeida Theatre in London.
Not only that, but the Irish actress will be reuniting with her Mary Queen of Scots co-star James McArdle for the production.
The two are no strangers to playing husband and wife, as their most recent pairing saw them as unhappy couple Roderick and Charlotte Murchison in the movie Ammonite, which also starred Kate Winslet.
Saoirse will play the role of Lady Macbeth in the new adaptation which promises to showcase a ‘more equivalent relationship’ between her character and that of the title character Macbeth.
