Storm Eunice batters Scots coastline as footage shows huge waves crashing over wall on to cars

Video footage has revealed the brute force of Storm Eunice as it brings chaos to Scotland 's coastal areas. A weather warning for snow and wind by the Met Office is in place across most of the country currently and is expected to last until 6pm.It's the second storm for Scotland in a week and flood alerts have been issued due to the mix of heavy rain and wind battling our shores.At Ayr Beach a driver captured huge waves crashing into the sea wall and spilling into a costal road on video.Drivers are seen trying to navigating sea water hammering over their cars and flooding along the esplanade road.The footage was sent in by James John in Ayr where the area has been subject to winds and non-stop rain all day.

Elsewhere, regions of Scotland are experiencing blizzard conditions as snow causes problems on the country's transport network. "Storm Eunice may cause disruption due to heavy snow and some strong winds on Friday," reads the Met Office's weather warning.There has been a heavy down pour of snow in the Highlands bringing treacherous conditions.The A82 south of Glencoe was closed down at around 10:30am this morning but the route has since reopened.Elsewhere, snow ploughs have been out clearing sections of the M80 with numerous delays and accidents across Scotland's roads today.Wintry conditions are expected to continue in to tomorrow with a yellow warning for ice in place until 9am for the majority of the country.
