A man has been taken to hospital after becoming stranded in the water at a Scots harbour. A HM Coastguard helicopter, RNLI teams and paramedics were scrambled to the incident at Crammond Causeway in Edinburgh at 4.16pm on Friday, August 4 after receiving reports of a person struggling in the water.
On arrival, the casualty was found exhausted and clinging onto a concrete pillar which was submerged by the sea.He was rushed to hospital, where he is currently being treated for lacerations and suspected hypothermia.
His current condition is unknown.Dramatic footage from the mission shows him being lifted to safety by RNLI teams before being carried back to the mainland by lifeboat.
Kinghorn lifeboat volunteer helm Neil Chalmers said the casualty was "extremely lucky" to have been spotted by a member of the public.
