msn.comRichard Gere has assured worried fans he is feeling ‘much better’ after suffering a health scare in Mexico. The Hollywood star, 73, had been enjoying a trip to sunny Mexico with his family to celebrate his wife Alejandra’s 40th birthday last week when he fell ill.
Richard, who was also accompanied on the trip by his and Alejandra’s two and four-year-old sons, developed a bad cough and was hospitalised with pneumonia, TMZ reported last week.
Thankfully Richard is believed to have recovered after just one night of hospital treatment, and was discharged the next day with a round of antibiotics.
Richard has apparently been aware of the worry reports of his illness caused, as he has issued a message via wife Alejandra confirming he is feeling much better.
