A rescue operation was launched after a man fell down a 'muddy embankment' at a popular beauty spot. Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to Daisy Nook country park on the border of Oldham and Ashton-under-Lyne at about 5.45pm on Friday.

Firefighters brought the man to safety using a stretcher and ropes. It's not clear if he was injured.
