Real Madrid are 'trying to convince' Erling Haaland to remain at Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2024 so that they are able to sign him.The Norwegian is the name on the lips of all top European clubs, and Cadena SER reports that five teams are in with a shout of securing his signature.Madrid are one of those sides, but they don’t believe they would be able to sign Haaland and Kylian Mbappe in the same transfer window, feeling ‘the arrival of both in the next season would be a difficult fit’.Mbappe is out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season and has been consistently been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.Madrid saw two bids for the French forward rejected in the summer and appear to be awaiting the end of the season to sign their top target. The prospect of forming one of the most lethal strike partnerships in recent history could be a persuasive factor for Haaland given that he and Mbappe are the heirs to the thrones of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. But it is reported that if Dortmund fail to progress past Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday then the 21-year-old could be forced to decide where his future lies the very next day.It is not overly surprising that an early exit on the European stage would prompt Haaland to start seriously considering his options given that he has previously been an unstoppable force in the Champions League in previous campaigns.Manchester City, PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are the four other clubs interested in signing the former RB Salzburg star, who has scored 16 goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances.Haaland is thought to have a £63million release clause in his contract that becomes active in the summer, which is considered a bargain given.
