Tricia and Cathie have been crowned BBC's Race Across The World winners. The eight-episode TV series saw five pairs take part in a literal race across the world as they travelled through various countries.The contestants were pushed to their absolute limits as they made their way through extraordinary terrain whilst on a limited budget.
The pairs are given a GPS tracker, a world map, a travel guide and a money belt of cash, but they are not allowed to catch a flight as a mode of transport.The pairs travelled over 16,000 kilometres from Vancouver, Canada, on the Pacific Coast to St John's on the island of Newfoundland.
During the final episode last night, three contestants were left in the race, but only one pair could be crowned the 2023 winners.The pair that managed to reach the finish line first was best friends Tricia and Cathie, with married couple Mobeen and Zainib placing second, and father and daughter team Ladi and Monique placing third.
After their triumphant victory, both Tricia and Cathie felt mixed emotions.Tricia said: “It is just crazy madness but amazing, absolutely amazing.
