BGT's Ant McPartlin suffers 'heavy fall' live on-air in opening minutes of semi-final

The live semi-final of the 2023 instalment of Britain's Got Talent got off to a jaw-dropper of a start as Ant McPartlin suffered a "heavy fall" live on-air.

The much-loved ITV talent show aired its first semi-final on Monday night with several acts competing to get into the coveted final.

But the festivities got off to a rocky start when Ant, 47, took a dramatic tumble after sliding on the stage floor. The host hit the deck following an opening number performed by 2009 winners, London-based dance group Diversity, fronted by Dancing On Ice judge, Ashley Banjo.

And as BGT presenter Ant and his co-host Declan Donnelly made their way centre stage to introduce the first act, Ant slipped into the air, landing onto his back before dancer Ashley helped him to his feet.To which Ant admitted to viewers: "Ouch, my back.
