Pub owner called 'boring & sad' for opening on Christmas day has great response

NottinghamshireLive.But, the boss received abuse from people online who claimed he was encouraging people to drink instead of spending time with their families.Now, the pub owner has spoken out in a statement online and noted that lots of people feel lonely on Christmas and going to the pub may be their only chance to socialise.When the pub initially announced they would be opening, one person said: "Why encourage this on Christmas Day?“Let people encourage the family get-together instead of encouraging alcohol.“Have to be bored and sad to open Xmas Day."But, bosses of the Meadow Lane pub said while they respect everyone's right to their opinion, they felt the judgemental comment was "short-sighted".On Facebook, they explained their reasons.
