Prince William and Kate Middleton could end up being the highest earners from their social media out of all the royal Instagram accounts, new research shows.Their 13.4 million followers on Instagram mean they would earn a fortune if they were to start doing sponsored posts, according to analysis carried out by furniture retailer Bed Kingdom.Marketing calculator research reveals that the Cambridges, who have the largest following of any royal account on Instagram,could expect to earn an average of £26,073 per advertiser-funded upload.The Queen is meanwhile second most influential royal on social media — and were she to take the somewhat un-regal step of doing sponsored content could reportedly rake in an average £23,159 per post.Working members of the Royal Family do not do paid advertisements on social media, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be tempted to experiment after signing a raft of commercial deals since quitting The Firm in 2020.Despite not posting on their account ‘SussexRoyal’ at the start of the pandemic, and could expect to earn an average of £19,821 per post, making them the third most influential Royals.
This comes as a result of their Instagram following of almost ten million. If Meghan and Harry do choose to begin posting again on the account, they have the potential to earn a fortune through sponsored posts. ‘SussexRoyal’ has the highest engagement rate of any Royal Instagram account with 4.39% compared to the 0.91% engagement rate of William and Kate’s account.Commenting on the study, a spokesperson from Bed Kingdom stated: “Whilst members of the Royal family have never posted a sponsored, this analysis gives a fascinating insight into the potential revenue that each Royal family member could.
